Recipes for cats that need a little more - for the nursing queen, kittens, senior cat, and the sick cat

Purrfect Cat Cookies

  •  1 cup of flour
  •  1 ts catnip
  •  1 egg
  •  1/3 cup of milk
  •  2 tb wheat germ
  •  1/3 cup of powdered milk
  •  1 tb unsulfurated molasses
  •  2 tb butter
Mix dry ingredients. Add molasses, egg, and milk. Roll out flat onto greased cookie sheet and cut into small shapes. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 20 minutes. Let cool and store in tightly sealed container.

 
 

Tuna Fish Cookies

  •   1 can of tuna (in oil)
  •   2 cups of cornmeal
  •   2 cups of flour
  •   3/4 cups of vegetable oil
  •   4 tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients well. Roll out to 0.8 cm. thickness on a floured surface. Cut out into little balls and place them on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for about 30 minutes. Cool and store in an air-tight container in the fridge.

 
 

Sardine -n- Rice Treat

  •  2 cans of sardines in oil
  •  2/3 cups of cooked rice
  •  1/4 cup of chopped parsely
Combine all ingredients and serve. Refrigerate unused treat in a tightly sealed container.

 
 

Chicken Surprise

  •   1.5 cups of water
  •   1 tsp of iodized salt
  •   2 tsp of corn oil
  •   1/2 cup of uncooked rice
  •   1/2 pound chicken giblets, chopped
  •   1/4 cup of finely chopped carrots
Add salt and oil to water and bring to a boil. Pour rice in boiling water, lower heat and cook for 10 minutes. Stir in chicken giblets and the chopped carrots. Simmer at low heat for about 10 - 15 minutes. Cool and serve.

 
 

Tasty Salmon Snack

  •  Half a can of salmon (drained)
  •  1 cup of whole grain bread crumbs
  •  1 tbs Vegetable oil
  •  1 egg (beaten)
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius. Mash the salmon with a fork and combine it with the remaining ingredients, mix well. Make bite sized "cookies" on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

 
 

Cat Cakes

  •   2 cups whole wheat flour
  •   1 cup skimmed milk or water
  •   1 tablespoon honey
  •   1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  •   1 teaspoon salt
Mix dry ingredients. Add liquid and honey. Mix and let the dough rest in a warm place for 15 minutes. Add oil and allow to sit another 30 minutes. Take walnut size portions of dough and flatten into small cakes. Bake in oven at 200 degrees celsius for 30 minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container.

 
 

Kitten Glop

  •   12oz of water
  •  envelope Knox Gelatin
  •  12oz can of whole evaporated milk (not skim)
  •  2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  •  2 tablespoons plain yogurt (not nonfat)
Boil the water and add the gelatin. Add the following ingredients in order, mixing well after each addition:
  •   1/2 of the canned milk
  •   mayonnaise and yogurt
  •   remainder of the milk
Variations include the addition of kitty vitamins, pureed baby food meat such as lamb, chicken, or beef.

 
 

Catnip Tea

  •   Ingredients: 2 tablespoons of catnip(add extra for more flavor), 1 cup of water and an empty soda bottle. Put the catnip in the bottle, pour in the water. Put the cap on the bottle, and shake bottle the catnip tea has turned green.
