Indian Runner Ducks & New Kittens

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

28072009 029 Our Indian Runner ducks are turning 6 weeks this week, so now we are  trying to tell which ones are drakes and which ones ducks. An experienced duck-keeper told me that the drakes get a curly feather on their tails and have a different sound to their voice…. One of the ducklings does have a typical male quack to it but I haven’t seen any curly feathers yet – so I guess we’ll just have to sit and wait.

On another note, Haley and Victor had a litter of beautiful black spotted kittens on Sunday. New pics of them soon!!!

New Litter BoomKatz Good-Golly Miss Molly

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Just thought I’d share some pictures of the litter by our home-bred little Molly, owned by Claudia Hartz of Kalindi Bengals in Germany! Aren’t these the cutest little babies :) The special thing about Molly and her sister Jolie, who both live with Claudia, is that these girls are the only children of our Kajumba that have entered breeding programs…

Kittens in their new homes

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Below some pics from our most recent litter (Gogo x Victor). These our of our cute "little" boy Bagheera, who moved to his new home last November. This lucky guy gets to live with sheep, geese, ferret and a group of other cats and two great two-legged "caretakers" ;)  To be honest, I actually wouldn’t mind changing places with him, he lives in the absolute cutest historic Dutch cottage (farmhouse) I have ever seen… Enjoy the photos :)

Timbavati Socrates of Boomkatz Now Grandfather of F1 Kitten!

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

This summer our recently retired stud Timbavati Socrates became the grandfather of an F1 Bengal cat. Socrates’ daughter, Maharani von Suratthani was bred to Kurt Heile’s Asian Leopard Cat Cornelius of Red Mill, which brought forth this striking young beauty! Her name is Neeraja-Sitara von Suratthani, a rare F1 Bengal cat bred at the Suratthani cattery in Germany.
